[soak aways / infiltration]

Occasionally, planning permission may enforce a “zero” discharge restriction, or where re-charging the ground water via infiltration / soakaway, may be a more acceptable “SUDS” approach. It certainly reduces the amount of direct discharge and can reduce the volume of attenuation required.

soak awayAtlantic CSP offers a range of perforated pipes to suit site specific conditions in accordance with BRE Digest 365. The perforation pattern will be governed by the infiltration design which is based on the attenuation volume, percolation rates of the native soil and existing water table levels. We can provide combinations of attenuation and soakaway, to suit your available footprint and drainage levels.

It is general practice to place geo-textile between the tank wall and the backfill, to prevent ingress of the granular material into the tank, or use a particle size larger than the perforations. The attenuation / soakaway rates are often designed hydraulically using a combination of tank volume and void ratio of the backfill material.
